With the W&B done it is time to get this kit certified and turn it into an airplane. I followed the EAA packet guidelines and filled out the forms. I called Charlie the DAR in the area but he said he is still in China and I should find someone else.
I found Gary Brown from OR. I was a great help and knows the FAA processes well. He informed me all my forms were old and I need to download new ones from the FAA site. I did. Then he coordinated with my local FSDO to be my designated inspector. I highly recommend Gary. His email is calpilot123@gmail.com.
I prepared all my documents. I printed out this kit.log. I read a bunch about what to expect. And Gary came out on December 2nd, 2018.
He inspected for a while and then did paper work for awhile.
My RV kit became the newest airplane in the USA at 2:30 PM December 2, 2018.
The phase I flying plan is 100 mile radius from Anacortes with operations at Skagit, Arlington, Jeff Co. The phase I test flying last for 40 hours during which everything gets tested and performance gets documented.
