Brief Description:  Wheel Pants & Fairings 1

I'm over 40 hours and time to put on the wheel pants. I've kept them off this long for engine break in. The mains have been 90% complete and so putting them on involved a re-install and drilling one or two holes for the leg to fuselage intersection fairing.

I discovered that the bracket which holds the main pant is too close to the spinning brake disk. There is clearance but only about 1/32. So I had to remove it and put a thicker washer in for spacing. To do this I need jacks, which I have, but I didn't have a pin for the plane to lift by.

I made some pins to screw into the tie down loop holes. I bought carriage bolts and ronded them slightly to fit the concave cup on the top of the jacks. They kind of fit. But jacking up the plane worked well. I removed the wheel and the bracket and swapped washers so that I have a thick washer as the spacer and the thin washer under the bolt nut.
