Brief Description:  First Flight 1

First nice weekend after training with Mike. Winds are fairly calm this morning put system is coming late today. Bob Mann was available to come assist. He was the ground station. Wife Jody was to worried to come at first but she showed up about 30 minutes into the flight. I was really worried. What if the engine runs for 1 minute, quits and dumps me in the ocean?

But the flight went per plan. Engine started and it seems very smooth. Prop spins very true.
Taxed around a bit. Did run up. CS Prop came alive. I had not cycled it before but it worked.
Tried to do full power for 5 seconds, but the brakes wouldn't hold. So I pulled power and started take-off over again.

Headed down the runway. Stick neutral, full power, stick back, nose up a little, relieve pressure on stick to keep nose flying. I could see end of runway over the cowl. Lifted off really quick in just a few seconds. Engine was roaring - scary. Climbed to 2000 feet and started an engine break-in a 24x24.
