Time to do weight and balance. This is the last major task before asking the FAA to come declare this airplane airworthy. Per Van's I need to weigh it with empty fuel tanks. Empty means with un-usable fuel. Right now the tanks are near full from the calibration. So I have to remove fuel.
I bought a little fuel pump from Auto Parts Store and used it to pump out as much fuel as I could.
Finally, I drained fuel from the cocks. I noticed one tank slowed down draining a little and blew into the vent tube. This fixed it. It must have been slightly plugged with dust or something.
I didn't get photos of the actual weighing. I borrowed scales from our EAA chapter. I put the wheel pants on top of the wing and nose pant on top of engine so that every part was on. Empty weight came in at 1195 lbs.
