Brief Description:  First Engine Start 2

Prior to doing the engine start I needed to make sure I had positive oil pressure.

So I removed the top plugs. Pulled off Mixture. Pulled off Throttle. Shut off fuel at the valve.
I turned the engine with the starter and monitored oil pressure.

Nothin happened. I ran the starter again for what seemed like several seconds. Nothing. Gezzz. Really. I re-read the Lycoming manual and it said I might have to turn the engine 15 - 45 seconds but that I should do it in bursts of not more than 15 seconds. 15 seconds is a long time when you are spinning the prop with the start.

So I spun it for 15 seconds. Nothing. Oh, maybe I saw the needle wiggle a little.
Then durning the second spin of 15 seconds I started to see the oil pressure rise. And when I stopped turning the prop the pressure did not drop off right away. It stayed up awhile. yea!! That's good.

So I turned it a third time and during this 15 seconds the oil pressure went way up to about 40 PSI. I am ready for first start.
