Brief Description:  Panel 3 Relocating Ribs

Next the two ribs that come attached to the subpanel have to be moved. I cut them off flush with the sub panel. Riveted on angle at the cut off end. Then I attached them to the holes Advanced Systems Engineers put in the panel and saw where they hit the subpanel.

I just drilled new holes in the subpanel and riveted on these two ribs. notice the ribs go left and right of the big hole for the Garmin which reinforces this area. And with using the hole rib with upper and lower attach holes this makes for a very sturdy panel installation. Way to go designers at Advanced System.

You might notice that the holes for the left rib are the same holes used to hold the doubler on for the canopy mechanism. I drilled those out and re-riveted this rib on. No problem. So the left rib is riveted on with 1/8 rivets and the right rib is riveted on with 3/16 rivets. I did the right rib first and didn't see why I should use 1/8" rivets. Seems fine.

Also notice the ribs are swapped. The one that came off the left is now on the right and vica versa.
