Brief Description:  Nose Gear 1

I followed the direction in Van's plan until I got the bearings packed and the bolt for the axle installed. Then discovered the wheel does not turn very easily. Doesn't seem right.

So I researched and decided to do the axle modification offered by Alan at Antisplat. He machines the wheel a little and puts in a larger car bearing. The bearing should last a couple life times and does not need packing with grease. He also puts in a spacer so that the axle is solid all the way thru so that when you tighten the bolt there isn't extra squeezing done to the wheel.

The wheel turns fairly easily now. Antisplat also trims the rubber to be truely round and puts on weights to balance the tire. All seems like a good idea.
