Built the brake (bending) for the trailing edge of the elevator skins.
Finished the skeleton and match drilled the counterbalance. Spent a considerable amount of time modifying the E714(R) counterweight per plans. Took about 3/8 inch off…slowly.
Assemble/cleco’ed the entire right elevator together and match drilled. All looked good.
Decided to deviate from the direct instructions and moved to the left elevator. Since I had the assemble top of mind, I thought I would work on the LE. Assemble the counterweight and ribs and spars, no issues. Went to cleco the skin on and noticed that the skin would not complexly fit down on the E702 Spar. Upon investigation (not moving forward) seems that the stiffeners were a little long (E720G) by about 1/8 inch which needed to be shorter. Dang.
Looks like I will be drilling out the E720G next session.
