Brief Description:  Section 28, installed nav/strobe lights

Section 28, main wing finishing, installed the LED navigation/strobe Aveoflash LP lights to the wingtips. This ended up being a tad easier than I expected, which is yet another benefit of LED. When you drill into the trailing wing spar, and drill the 3/8" hole where the light will be, it's pretty much a straight shot down a tube to get there. You'll still need a cable installation puller to get it through the entire length. I got the wire at Lowe's, and it's marked for sprinkler systems, but it is just about perfect for this, being five 18 gauge wires in a protective sheath. The wire colors just about match what comes with the light, and I just left the fifth white one unused. Red to Red (nav), Yellow to Yellow (strobe), Blue to Blue (sync), and Black to Green (ground). The blue wires from each wing are simply connected to each other, which synchronizes their strobe flashes.

The manual shows you where to drill through the spar, but I thought I was smarter, so I drilled a first hole, and then realized that an important bolt must go right through that area, so I had to drill a second hole for the wire on the first wing. No harm done, but something to watch out for.
