Even though I'm still waiting on a retaining ring to make the port side boot, I decided to go ahead and install the port landing gear, and I believe I can add the boot around it later. Once I had that side installed, I could hook up the tailwheel retraction and extension.
Luckily, I had seen how another builder, Tom Bowden, connected his tailwheel retraction spring with a ratchet, because I was first scratching my head... way too much tension to get it done by hand. The manual gives no hints on how to connect it, it just says do it.
