Brief Description: Front baggage trunk complete
Having a front trunk has always been a priority for me, for overnight bags, and a permanent stash of survival gear and tools. Sometimes a pilot must add ballast weight up front for proper weight and balance, and at least with good front storage, I’d be able to add a useful ballast.
I had previously fiberglassed in some front brackets, and cut some wood to fit between them, running the width of the front hull. I used a 3’ x 1.5” aluminum stick, a 28” x 1.5” for the front, and sewed some great fabric I found around them, with some elastic sewn into the sides. When screwed to the avionics tray and hung over the front support, it creates a sling hammock to hold anything I want, keeping it secure, high & dry.
