Brief Description:  Section 17, wasting more time with the pylon cover

Well, this was a waste of time. I need to add some foam, or some structure in between the pylon covers. I know of another builder who experienced a disaster at this point, because they attached the covers, then filled the area with expanding foam, which horribly deformed the covers. My idea was to clamp temporary wood covered in oil, and spray foam in there, then put the real covers on, after the foam hardened. Well, it just didn't work well. A full bottle failed to expand enough to fill the area, and it's just a sticky mess, even sticking to the wood covered in oil.

I just threw all that out, and I'll order some sheets of styrofoam from Aircraft Spruce to cut and sandwich in there right. I'll just move on to something else while waiting for the styrofoam to come in.

I really thought this was going to work.
