Brief Description: Add nutplates to, and position access cover
After reviewing the plans and photo guide, I decided to use the predrilled rivet holes along each side and several of the predrilled holes along the rear to install the nutplates. To eliminate the bulge from the round rivets against the access panel, I chose to to use the flat head riveter and countersunk the holes to achieve a smoother appearance for the cover (panel). I fabricated a small jig to install the nutplates and it worked so much better than on previous installations. The time was cut by at least 1/4 using the small jig.
