Brief Description:  Setting the jig

After conducting an inventory of all the parts we purchased I set about installing the wing jig that I also purchased from Doug. Obviously the two wings need to match so I wanted to build the second wing as close as possible to the first. That is much more likely with his jig and his fabricated wing parts.

After bolting the jig to the floor and to the beam overhead I set up the aft spar. The wing will be built vertically with the forward spar facing up. In order to ensure there is no twists in the wing the spars must be level to each other both vertically and horizontally as well positioned properly so the chord line is straight. The spars are flexible until the ribs are installed and riveted. So they have to be supported to prevent them from bending.
