Brief Description:  First fit of cut canopy

After cutting the canopy I spent about 10 minutes with my palm sander working on the edge. I started with 80, then moved to 180, 220 and finally 400. I have 600 and 800 but I will use that when I am finished fitting the canopy.

My wife and I placed the canpy on the aircraft and I was very happy with the results. I only have the one photo right now, but the fit was just wonderful along the roll bar. It is in contact all along the whole bar. I have not looked with my inspection mirror, but it feels like it is in contact with the forward 631A frame as well.

Overall the canopy is about 3/32" or 1/16" too long, which is much better than too short. I still need to trim the sides to match the canopy frame and the forward portion needs work around the forward skin. All in all I am very happy with the results.
