Brief Description:  More testing and configuring

More testing and configuring of the avionics. Last post mentioned the Garmin GPS found itself. I also tested both communication radios. They can receive sitting in the hangar which is a little amazing as the antennas are on the belly. During transmission testing I could not raise anyone, but a friend used his handheld and could receive me just fine. More testing once I am airborne.

I also fired up the Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS.) It sits on a network with about 10 other devices that feed it data. The data is interpreted and displayed on the EFIS monitor, shown in image two. It found itself and all the of the various devices and sensors, but I was getting some erroneous data from a sensor. I went through the various configuration screens but some things were not right. I contacted Advanced Flight Systems and they sent me a link to an update operating system, which I downloaded and installed. That fixed most of the issues and their tech support walked me through the new configuration screens to make sure the correct sensor model was selected. After that everything worked!

I am pretty jazzed about everything working.
