Brief Description:  More wiring

Well it seems that I have let another month go by without posting any photos to my build log. That is not an indication of a lack of work, just a lack of desire to post to my build log. Well lets try to capture all that has happened.

1. Almost all the wiring is complete. Last issue to address. The EFIS needs to connect to a lot of different devices located around the aircraft. The transponder, the ADS-B in device, the ARINC device and a few more. The harness quickly becomes a multi headed snake winding its way through the aircraft. This makes pulling the harness ourt for maintenance almost impossible. What I have done is bring all the various devices individual back to a D-sub 25 connector. The EFIS will be connected to the other side. I found a D-sub 25 gender changer designed to be installed in a panel as a passthrough. Photos to follow.

2. All the wiring and thier various supports and tie downs are installed and except for the harnesses mentioned above all the is finished.

3. I have fabricated a GPS antenna mount that will be installed on the left wing outboard rib. This will place the Garmin antenna under the wingtip covered by fiberglass.

4. All the antennas are installed and the RG-400 coax has been run to the forward part of the subpanel.

5. The Hartzell constant speed propeller has arrived and is ready to be mounted on the engine. I am finishing the measurements of the spinner bulkheads and the prop will be installed.

6. Using a CAD program I have created documentation for each connector and its pin outs, as well as a table describing each conneection and its location. This has made creating wiring harnesses so much easier.

7. I also passed my Powerplant certification testing. So I am an official powerplant mechanic. I will be finished with my airframe hours in May so I can take those exams.

As you can see the month has been busy and there is progress.
