Brief Description:  Wiring update - 02

Finished the main fuse panel. The wiring has sufficient play so the fuse panel shelf can be lowered and raised without stretching or damaging any wires. You can see the general layout in image 1. The wires are held by Adel clamps and tied with trash bag twist ties. Once all the wiring is finalized the twist ties will be replaced. The fuse panel on the right is for the avionics.

The wiring for the landing light (right wing) and taxi light (left wing) and both the position lights runs from the panel down to the wing attaching point. The wings are wired from lights to the wing root, so at some point the wiring needs to be joined together to complete the circuit. How to join them has been something I have been pondering for sometime. Here is what I decided.

While they would work there is no sense in using a butt or knife splice. I wanted a more elegant solution. In image two you can see a two position terminal strip. That is connected to the inner skin of the fuselage just behind where the flight controls and wiring from the wing enter the fuselage. In the bottom of image three you can see where it is mounted. The wires installed run to the panel and the two open postions are for the light wiring coming from the wing. Seems to be the best way to connect the wires, although not the easiest.
