Brief Description:  Rerouting strobe wiring

Originally I had planned on running the left wing strobe wiring across the aircraft under the pilot and copilot seats, then down the right side of the aircraft with the right wing strobe wiring. Too much wiring under the seats as well as a pass over the top of the Skyview network cable. So I decided to change plans.

I drilled access for the left strobe on the left side of the aircraft, just like the access I created on the right side. I had to make sure as I drilled through F-705 that I was above the rear spar carry through. No problem, there is plenty of room above the carry through for a 7/16" hole and snap bushing. Now the left cable will run down the left side to the compartment aft of the baggage area. Here I will run it all the way back to the F-707 bulkhead (image two), along the front side of the bulkhead and then forward 18" to the powerpack. Seems like a longer run, and it is, but only by about 15". That is due to the width of the aircraft is greater at the seats than it is back by the F-707 bulkhead. This means I will have to move the ADAHRS cable from its current location, but this is a better solution.

Of course to drill the access holes I had to pull the flap weldment. Seeing how that was out I decided to switch the direction of the bolts for the flap pushtubes. I had them backwards and knew they needed to be switched. Of course now that everything is installed according to plans, I checked the washer stackup and torqued all of the flap weldment bolts.

Tomorrow I will finish the strobe wire run, the re-run of the ADAHRS cable and hopefull install the aileron trim. THEN it will be time for the engine mount.
