Modified the canopy release mechanism. The original design had the release handle penetrate the instrument panel, but my panel layout does not have room for the handle. Additionally it is an emergency release mechanism that also serves as a maintenance release.
In order to use an emergency release in flight I would also need to fly with a parachute, something I won't be doing. So I only need a maintenance release handle. The plan is to have the handle protrude the subpanel and sit on the avionics shelf I created for the ARINC device. It will be held in place by an Adel clamp to keep it from moving and inadvertantly releasing the canopy.
