Spent several days hiking in Big Sur, back working on the airplane this Thursday. Added the second OAT probe, this one under the right horizontal stabilizer. I did not really need the second OAT probe but it comes with the second ADAHRS. I am glad that I decided to add the second ADAHRS before closing the skin. I ran into some installation issues with the second unit.
In image two you can see an angle under the ADAHRS shelf for stability. I was never sure that it was needed, but discovered the pitot static lines would rub on it. So I drilled out the rivets and removed it. The next issue was reaching the screws that hold the second ADAHRS in place. My original plan would never have worked, there was no way to reach down to the heads.
My solution is 1 1/2" stainless cap screws and a 1" spacer. The screw goes into the spacer and then into the nutplate. This places the head (phillips) just above the ADAHRS. Now I can reach in and insert, tighten or remove screws.
In image three you can see there are just white lines running inbetween the two ADAHRS. I have a lot of excess white tubing, so I used scrape white to build mockups. Then I cut the actual lines to match.
