Brief Description:  Canopy frame

Now that the canopy is very close, I need to complete a laundry list of small tasks before permanently placing the canopy. I took that aft portion of the canopy and filled the tooling holes as well as the small space at the top. Once that sets up I will sand it down and get it ready for primer and paint.

I pulled the rest of the canopy frame of the aircraft as it needs final riveting. I know it will shift slightly during the riveting process. Today I just started to evaluate and document the sequence of several tasks. I know I need to pull the reinforcement ribs, there are six clips that need riveting. Before reinstallation the kit I need to paint the interior portion of the frame. The exterior is completely covered by skin. Then I can rivet the reinforcement kit, followed by the skin.

While the paint drys I can work on struts, instrument panel and prepping for interior paint. The canopy fitting process led to scratches to some painted surfaces. After finishing the canopy I will pull it and repaint those areas.

Of course there is panel work and wiring that can be done as well. Lots to do.....no school tomorrow so a full day of work is scheduled.
