Worked for a guy that needed three days off, so not much work on the airplane. When I got home this morning I worked on the plane for a couple of hours. I took the canopy frame skin and the forward fusealge skin off so I could see what was not fitting correctly. Turns out I had four different locations on the left and right outside weatherstripping flange that was up against the canopy frame. Using a file I took off about 1/16" or so at each location and rechecked the fit. Now everything lined up. I reclecoed the skins and I had 3/32" along the entire seam.
After checking and rechecking I drilled the canopy hinges to the frame and drilled the center section to #30 as well. Next time I will take everything apart, rivet the hinges and center section and get ready to drill the hole for the hinge pin.
