Brief Description:  fuel tank pickup - 03

The new fuel pickups came in will I was away at work and today I installed one in the right tank. The first image shows the old pickup and the new one. A couple of observations about the new one, it is shorter than the old; just about 5/8" shorter. One of the problems I ran into was the old pickups were a little too long. Second the flare at the end that was done at the "factory" was significantly better with the new pickup compared to the old one. I meant to get a photo but did not.

Back to the installation I went through a test fit for the pickup. I connected it to the 90 degree fitting and, without applying any torque, I checked for fit in the fuel tank. The screen mesh set perfectly in the lowest part of the tank. I disassembled everything and went through each piece. Once I was satisfied with the condition I drilled the hole for the safety wire service bulletin. You can see the safety wire hole in image three.
