Brief Description:  Push tubes for ailerons - 01

I have been putting off the push tubes for some unknown reason. I guess I was worried that I would mess it up. Image one shows the finished product. I had to insert the bearing mount inside the push tube body and rivet it. Sounds easy, but how do you get six evenly spaced rivets. Well that is easier than it seems. This is not an original idea, something I borrowed from Vans AirForce.

Step one is wrap tape around the tube you want to evenly space the rivets. Make sure the ends just touch and then remove the tape. Set the tape on your bench and mark six even locations for rivets. Of course, the length of the tape is the circumference; divided into six equal lengths gives you six rivet locations. Put the tape back on the tube and head to the drill press. A few minutes later you have six evenly spaced rivet holes. Do that three more times and you have two push tubes with bearings on each end. Easy.
