Brief Description:  Small wing projects - 01

Today was a day to get several small projects worked on. I really need to get the wiring conduit and provisions for the pitot static lines finished. There are three ribs inside the wing that are too close together to get any tools between and too far inside the wing for any normal drill bit to reach. That is coupled with needing to drill a 3/4" hole and a 7/16" hole in each one. Yesterday I found a used 12" long 7/16" bit at a salvage place. Although it was not in the best shape it was good enough to drill the 7/16" holes I needed. Vans drills two holes in each rib for pitot /static and wiring. I need two lines for pitot static as I am adding an Angle of Attack capability which requires a second line. You can see in the first and second image the holes for the third line are finally in place. Two will carry pitot static lines and one will carry a coax cable for commo / nav.

The third picture shows the 3/4" hole that is yet to be drilled in those three same ribs. I ordered an extension for the step drill bit, so that job will get done next time.
