Brief Description:  Ailerons and Flaps

Started working on the aileron brackets, aileron gap fairings and the flap brace. All of these parts have been primered and are ready for installation. I checked the fit and finish of the aileron brackets and three needed a small amount of work to match the existing rear wing spar. This meant the brackets would need to be primed again. After using the buffing wheel to get the fit I wanted I set those aside for priming. The aileron gap fairings and flap braces were ready to cleco and drill to size. The gap fairings went right into place, although there was a small amount of overlap with a doubler on the left wing. I will remove a little bit of that fairing for a clean fit, the right gap fit with no adjustment.

I clecoed the flap braces to that wings and discovered there is a conflict with the doubler that is already installed on the inboard wing spar. Both of the flap braces will need to be trimmed. If there is any place on the aircraft I do not want any stress it is here. They will come, be trimmed for porper fit and then riveted.

I took the pieces and parts home that I could, primed them and will let them dry for riveting next time.

No photos, because I forgot my camera.
