Brief Description: Putting the aft fuselage together
After checking the longerons I went to work on the aft fuselage. It is really great to start to assemble the smaller pieces into larger parts. First step was to cut the J channels (photo 3) to size. There are three on each side for added strength. After cutting it was a slow process of clecoing the bottom skin to the bulkheads and then putting the side skins in place and clecoing those together. The forward bulkhead (706) does not align perfectly with the punched holes. I am about 1/64 (or half a hole) off. It may be due to the blue plastic or it may be due to the one bulkhead. Next time I will take everything apart and recheck the bulkhead. A little more fluting or sanding may be enough to check everything aligned.
