Brief Description:  F-705 Bulkhead

Started fabricating the last components for the 705 bulkhead. Those components are the 705J, K and L pieces made from the material in photo. Using a chop saw I cut all the pieces to length for riveting to the top of the 705 bulkhead. The next step was to bend a four degree angle in the alum. strip that lays on top of the 705 bulkhead. In order to rivet that to the bulkhead I had to create a shim that ran the length of the strip. Then I layed out the rivet lines and drilled everything to size. I got caught up in the building process and did not take any photos until later in the process. But if you look carefully, probably more carefully than you care to, in photo 2 you can see the shim underneath the strip that is clecoed in place.
Next was cutting an angle alum to size for riveting to the side of the bulkhead. All of this is to support the seat backs (I think.) In photo 2 I have cut the angle alum to size and clamped it in place on the bulkhead. The next step is drilling the rivet holes. In order to get the rivets in the correct place the angle needed a 1/8" space between it and the bulkhead. I had a piece of scrape angle laying about that was 1/8" so I used it for a shim to ensure I had the correct spacing. With everything in place I drilled the bulkead.
