Over the last few days I have worked on the firewall and reviewed the Center Section construction, which is really part of the wing kit (for QB wings.) So this is just a recap of the activity spent over a few days. I clecoed all the stiffners to the firewall and drilled everything to size. I also fabricated the fuel pump stiffner and drilled it to size (including the 1/4" for the fuel pump platenuts.) I am not sure if I will install fuel injection or not. If I do then this fuel pump stiffner will not be needed, but its in there any. Next I will need to countersink all the stiffners as the forward part of the firewall has (or will have fliush rivets.) In the meantime I am going to order some RTB and a Firewall sealant. I want to lay down a thin coating under the stiffners to seal the rivet holes from air leaks. Just a little added protection in case of an exhaust leak during flight.
