I have trimmed the panel openings sufficiently so the panels will fit inside although still too tightly for paint. Right now the rivet edge distance is a comfortable 3 - 4 diameters. Sufficient space should I ever need to drill out a rivet and it end up oversized. Any more material to be removed will be from the panels.
Image one and shows the panels in place with four screws to check fit and finish. Satisfied with the end results I pulled everything apart and deburred, dimpled, prepped for primer and primed the inside of the skin. Later that day I clecoed everything together.
