I received the seats back from Flightline Interiors. I forgot to give them updated seat back measurements, so when they got here the first time they were a little too big. Flightline Interiors fixed them for free. Nice.
On to the cowling........After cleaning the old mess off the cowling it was time to seal the honeycomb material and fill the craters left by the mold. I mixed up just regular epoxy and applied it to the upper cowling as a test. Using a squeegee I worked at forcing the epoxy down into all the openings. By wiping at 90 degree angles I think I avoided skimming the openings. If you haven't had the pleasure of attempting to fill pin holes in fiberglass let me explain. Skimming is when you apply a filler and instead of filling the hole the material just covers the top of it. When you sand the area later the hole is uncovered. By wiping the sequeegee at 90 degree angles you have a better chance of forcing the epoxy down into the pin hole.
