Over the last two days I have worked about two hours each day on mounting the empennage. The first day I worked on the pushtubes that run from the cockpit to the elevator horns. Each needed to be cut to size, edges cleaned up and the bearing mounts checked for fit. They are ready to assemble and rivet. Maybe Thursday morning.
There are four bolts that hold the horizontal stabilizer forward spar to the tail section bulkhead of the fuselage. During the initial fitting I drilled the two bolt holes that run through the longerons and temporarily inserted and torqued the bolts (the tail will come off pretty soon.) Today I finished drilling the other two holes with the angle attachment and installed and torqued the remaining bolts.
After riveting and installing the pushtubes I will be ready to install the vertical stabilizer.
