First task was to complete the F-712D elevator stop. That will be needed when I install the vertical stabilizer. After that it was time to drill the horizontal stabilizer to the fuselage. I drilled the forward spar ensuring I had the proper edge clearance. You can see the bolt heads in image two. I took this photo after drilling the holes, fabricating the shims and inserting the shims. If you look closely you can see the shims under the HS spar.
Next was drilling the aft spar in four locations. Again the bolts are in place merely to hold the tail on the aircraft. I still need to drill two more bolt holes in the forward spar. The lines are drawn, but I want use an angel drill so they will wait until I get home from work.
