Brief Description:  Baggage compartment - 3

Today I thought I would go to the hangar for the day, but that did not happen. I did some time and worked to finish getting the baggage floor installed. First step was to rivet all the nut plates in place. There are ten that hold the cover to the flight control channel. The elevator push / pull tube sits in the channel you can see in image one and two. There is a bell crank on the back side of the baggage compartment that carries the movement to the tail. The channel cover facilitates maintenance and inspections therefore 10 nut plates. Makes sense to me. There were a few other rivets, but most the rivets holding the floor to the baggage compartment ribs were LS 4-3 (s) or pulled rivets. This one of the few places you used pulled rivets. It is not structural and there is no way to get underneath the floor to buck the rivets. Afterward I ran an 8-32 tap through the nutplates. Normally I would not do this, but this are only holding panels in place.

Last task of the day was to get the bottom aft panel up in place. There are several nut plates and cuts that need to be made on this panel. Having it up made the visualization process easier.
