Brief Description: Tail wheel modification - just about finished
One of the comments in Vans instructions is the tail wheel spring mount (WD-409) may need a shim between it and the F-712 bulkhead. After clecoing F-712 in place I could tell a shim would be needed. Fortunately I had traced the outline of the spring mount on a piece of scrap from my mistake pile. I trimmed it to size and started sliding it down between the two. Photo 2 shows the shim about two-thirds in place. Image three shows the shim all the way in place. It was a tight fit (that's good) and should not move. I still need to drill the two "keeper" rivets through F-712 and the spring mount, which will also include the shim.
