Brief Description:  Forward longerons 5

Well, after my nine day work week I am back at the hangar again. I started the day by noticing the front tire of the Cherokee was low. While I was filling it I noticed the bottom of the cowling was really dirty. The number 3 cylinder had pushed the value cover gasket out and the engine had been dripping oil. We had swapped out the gasket, actually the A&P swapped out the gasket. Even though there are only six screws holding the valve cover on, I am not allowed to fix this issue. Any way, there was a lot of oil on the bottom of the aircraft. So I spent the first couple of hours working on that.
Then I could go to work on the RV. I spent the day fabricating to angle alumn. brackets and their associated shims (4) and drilling them into the forward longerons. I also drilled the landing gear webs to the skins. The first two photos show the one of the brackets and the send shows the shims behind it. The blue tape was used to hold the shims in the correct location so I could cleco the bracket in place. The third photo shows the landing gear web in place and drilled to the longeron.
