Next step of the day was to get the F-684 gusset frabricated and in place for drilling. The F-684 gusset requires some slight modifications to create two flanges and the flanges need to be bent slightly for proper fit. It is difficult to see, but in image one you can see the lower flange (remember the plane is still upside down) behind the clamp. The blue triange is the gusset. The longeron running up from the left and the gray firewall flange are not in the same plane. So the lower flange and side flange of the gussett both have to be bent for a proper fit. One side is bent back 1/32 and the other bent forward a 1/16. Not much bending, but enough for a good fit Image three gives you a slightly better view. Photo two shows the longerons completed, with the F-902 bulkhead (in the center of the picture) clecoed in place. I took this and image three as I was leaving for the day. Tomorrow I plan on placing a gussett to fix that weak link where the lower longerons butt up against the F-704 bulkhead.
