With the aft section completed I can turn my full attention to the center section. I finsihed getting all the ribs fluted and clecoed to bottom skin. As you can see in image three every thing is set up. The last step before disassembling is to attach the forward section of the main bulkhead 704. Yesterday, when I attached it the wing bolts seemed to align perfectly. I put a little oil on the bolts and tapped them in with a rubber mallet. There were two I had to use a wrench on to slowly turn, but they both went in. I was concerned about the two bolts that slide through the spacers at the top of bulkhead. They did not seem to line up correctly. I started re-measuring everything and discovered my two wooden spacers were not the same size and not 1 7/16ths. Today I took everything apart, remade the wooden spacers the correct size and re-assembled everything. That seemed to take some of the pressure off the bolts and everything lined up correctly. I am considering adding commo antennas under the baggage compartment. If I am going to modify the aircraft now would be the time. I will start the investigation online tonight.
