Brief Description:  Left elevator assembly

Today I started working on the left elevator in earnst. I clecoed the right and left ribs and the front spar with the reinforcement plates for the bearings and drilled them all to the correct size. The next big process was drilling the counter weight E-714 and the associated ribs to a size 12 hole. I scratched my head several times figuring out the best way to make this work. It took longer than I wanted but the holes came out perfect.
Next was reassembly of the various components and drilling everything to the correct size. I took a picture (timed delay) of myself working on drilling the left horn to size with the front spar. After drilling everything to size it was on to dis-assembly, sanding, deburring and edging. That took until after lunch. I finished the day shooting all the parts with primer so they will be dry and ready in the morning. Tomorrow I will need to machine counter sink a few parts and then start riveting the left elevator together.
