Today I re-worked the right elevator. There were ten rivets that needed to be reset, so I spent the morning carefully and slowly drilling them out. Still with taking my time two needed -4 rivets due to the hole size. These are used to hold the stiffner to the skin. I checked the stiffener and the clearance was in tolerance. Drilling out the rivets took most of the morning. I also replaced the counterweight skin (E-713.) I did not like the dimpling job on the counter-weight retention bolts. It was pretty ugly. It took sometime getting the alignment setup properly so I could drill the #12 size hole in the skin to match the counter-wieght. Of course, it also needed to be clecoed in place and all the holes drilled to size, deburred, dimpled and sanded for primer. I finished the day getting everything set up for riveting and spraying primer on E-713.
