The work went much faster today, I started working on fitting the ribs to the front and rear spar. It must be part of the planned 51% rule, but the middle two ribs, the front two ribs and part of the front spar do not have all the rivet holes already pre-punched. I know, I know, all of you that built aircraft before prepunched rivet holes did them all. That was then, this is now. Any way, it just a process of fitting everything together, measuring several times and finally drilling the holes. The instructions and process is a little more complex than I have stated here. The first picture is a shot of the middle ribs after drilling the rivet holes. The second picture was a few hours later after clecoing the skin to all the spars and ribs for match drilling. The third picture as just before I left for the day. It shows the left portion of the HS with the middle rib in place and matched drilled to the skin. I have to match drill the forward flange to the front spar and the reinforcement angles. You can see the rivet holes in the rib, picture 1 shows those same holes from the front of the rib.
