Brief Description:  Rudder trailing edge

The instructions discuss the rudder trailing edge and try to impress upon the builder the importance of a straight trailing edge. They suggest purchasing a length of angle aluminum to help in the process. First you transfer the rivet hole pattern from the trailing edige to the angle aluminum and drill holes to match the pattern. This gives you something straight and strong to cleco to the trailing edge. The second step is to put something between the two trailing edges to glue them together. I used red RTV and squeezed a small drop between the rivet holes and clecoed the whole thing, rudder skins and angle aluminum together. The picture shows the rudder standing straight up, everything clecoed together with the angle aluminum on the left side. This seemed to form a pretty straight line. I am going to let it set over night and rivet the skins together tomorrow.
