I forgot the camera so there won't be any photos with this entry either. Today I riveted the rudder spar, ribs and associated support pieces in place. I got in a hurry and riveted one of the ribs on the wrong side of the spar. Specifically, the cournter-wieght rib. I had to drill out the rivets and re-rivet it on the correct side. During my time researching the websites and forums concerned with RV building I found an excellent thread discussing rivet removal. Boy, has that come in handy. I have lost count but I have had to remove several rivets. With one exception I have been fortunate not to enlarge the hole. It takes time and patience, but it can be done. Patience is not one of my long suits, so if I can do it so can you. Go to the RV-7A forum on Yahoo and search for messages concerning "drilling out rivets." Its well worth the reading time.
Back to the rudder, the skins are clecoed in place and I will rivet them next time I am in the shop. After that it is clean up the trailing edge and the rudder will be completed.
