I decided to purchase a drill press and a 1" belt / 6" disk bench sander. I looked at the various places online; Lowes, HomeDepot, etc. All were about the same price and more than I wanted to spend. So, off to Harbor Frieght I went. I am keenly aware of the issues of quality at some organizations, but it does not hurt to look. I found a 16 speed bench top variable speed drill press, but they were out of the 1" X 6" sander. They did have a 4" X 6" sander, so I purchased it and the drill press. When I got to the hanger and started to unbox them I discovered the sander had a bent base. I did not want to drive back to Harbor Frieght, but I could not use the sander. One hour later I was back at the hanger with a new sander. The drill press I purchased is 41" tall which is about 10 inches taller than most bench top drill presses I looked at. When I put it on top of a 33" bench it is so tall (74") I needed a step latter to change the belt for different speeds. This is not going to work.
