Brief Description:  Getting restarted

Today was my first day back to the hanger after fifteen months away. I got home from Afghanistan last Saturday and spent the week with my wife. It was good to be back activitely working in my hanger. Several things happened; first I built a rolling plans table to hold the drawings from Van's. I wanted to free up the work bench space the plans were taking. Of course, I plugged in my compressor, checked the oil and turned it on. Ten minutes later I heard a thump and went to investigate. I am pretty sure the regulator went out. The pump pressurizes the tank, put only up to 80 PSI and it never shuts off. Once I turned it off, it holds the pressure so there is no leak. So I will need to investigate getting it repaired or replaced. I purchased a two year extended warranty, but it ran out while I was deployed. Oh well.
The most important happening of the day was meeting with a Technical Counselor. My next door hanger mate, brought over some folks to introduce them. For those of you that work out of a hanger, this is one of the good/bad things about having a hanger. You meet a lot of great people and you get interrupted a lot. This time it was good and good. I met some great people as well as Steve Barnes, who is a technical counselor. He is completing his third RV. Wow, what can I say. Having access to the kind of knowledge is just too valuable to describe. He looked at my work, made some great suggestions and showed me some areas that needed some attention. It was great.
