Brief Description:  Vinyl color

One of the problems with finishing an aircraft in December is weather interfering with test flight. I believe there will be better weather early next week. In the meantime I have decided to work on the vinyl wrap process.

I decided to start with the upper cowling. Its a large relatively flat service with compound curves at the forward edge. The large flat area will give me an opportunity to work with the material before working on compound curves until the end. The color is cosmic blue.

Next will be the aft tail faring followed by the spinner. The fiberglass has been coated with expoxy, sanded, then two coats of UV smooth prime and sanded some more. I slowly worked up to a 320 grit to get a smooth service, with no pin holes. If I were going to paint I would shoot a coat of a sealer primer but as I am going wirh vinyl so I will skip that step.
