Brief Description:  The cowling chronicle continues - 08

After messing... I mean crafting the lower edge to ensure a nice tight fit I moved on to the sides. One issue that has been slowing correcting itself is the amount of separation around the spinner aft bulkhead. As I trim the cowling and it moves into its final position this space is closing up slightly. You can see in image one there is still a lot of space in the lower quadrant. That area will need some attention (read fiberglass build up) after this process is over.

The next area that needs addressing is the bottom cowling aft sides, the edge that runs up the side of the fuselage. Using the 2" mark I made earlier I marked the final cut line on both sides. Before cutting I wanted to check the lower cut line and the fasteners placement. With all this upper, lower, back, side.whatever it is easy to be confused. What is left to cut is the aft side of the cowling (that runs up the firewall) and what is called the "cut line" or creating the edge between the upper and lower cowling on the left and right side.

After cutting the aft side and getting those Skybolt flanges installed I will mark and cut the "cut line.
