Brief Description:  Final bulkhead

After completing F-711 I moved on to the two remaining bulkheads (there were three but the third one did not need any fabrication.) The first one needed a crossmember constructed out of AA. That was quick and easy, although there was a bevel required that took a little head scratching. The next one required modifying and attaching the tail tie down. That was pretty simple, align on the center line, mark the rivet holes, cut to size and drill. It was done fairly qucikly. The vetical stabilizer attaches to this bulkhead so the aft side requires flush rivets. So I quickly dimpled the thin sheet metal, but the tie down required countersink. The second photo shows the tie down in place ready for riveting. Then when I thought I could start riveting a qucik plans check showed that I had missed a crossmember on F-711. I got it fabricated and clampled in place, but did not get the rivet holes drilled. There are only two so it will be a quick job tomorrow.
