Worked on the lower cowling by sanding, sanding and sanding some more. Probably spent 3.5 hours just block sanding. I wanted to remove the excess epoxy and get down far enough so the surface was smooth. At the end of the day I had made about 75% progress of where I wanted to finish. After working on the whole thing it became apparent I needed one more application of epoxy.
I laid down one more thin layer on everything but the bottom of the air scoop and its sides. That area is bad enough I will need to mix some microballons and spot fill. Image three shows the cowling curing, notice the shiny surface every where except the air inlet. I believe this will get me to the point of using a filler primer.
I also checked the fit of the two radios with the t-channel. I will need to take about 0.20 off the t-channel for the fit I want and I will need to place the comm 1 radio one top of the Garmin 400W.
